cash is easier to split with a team, are all the races paying money this year? is the joe shehan gc or cash this year?

Cash for Cat 1,2 especially. Most riders at this level already have a sponsor for parts/clothing/etc. Cash will pay for future travel/entry fees/food/lodging.

I would like to have sexy models kiss me on the podium. If that is not possible then I guess cash will do.

Roger:

Cash is the the best since it can be used to pay for gas immediately.

Organzied podiums are good for Stage Races only (in my opinion). In other races, getting the award and heading home to clean up is more important to me.

You know... it's always nice to include decorum in cycling but...I agree that unless it's a big "to-do" (ie: stage race) I would rather grab my prize and get on the road home.

This to all the "take the money and run" folks. Valid point, the last thing that I want to do after flogging myself silly is hang around with a long drive ahead of me. But consider this...as our races mature and attract more and more sponsorship, the podium thing is going to become more and more common. I seem to recall a fairly elaborate podium setup at Kansas State 'cross champs last year. (Chris and Co. raised the bar for sure.) I'll bet that photos of that showed up in sponsor packets for some of the key financial backers of the event. I know that my team's big sponsors eat that stuff up and we plan to give it to them. Their cash is paying the bills after all.
